to educate the individual towards full emotional and psychological maturity. Professor McKinney has written this excellent textbook as a basis for a course on mental hygiene. These courses have, in fact, been so successful that this book is in its third edition. It is a sad reflection that only a few English universities or, for that matter, medical schools, are aware that they have a role to play as emotional educators. I expect it will be many years before an English edition of this book becomes a necessity and until then we must continue with our neolithic methods of tutoring and guiding students under our care.
